Floral & Lace!

Hello and hope you had a relaxed weekend.  I spent some time with a friend who will be traveling to Cameroon to see her family and I'm excited for her.  I think if you are not like me and others like her who live in a country where most of your extended family is not at, it's hard to comprehend.  We are so far away from our families and can only visit sometimes after years and sometimes lives have been lost before reunited, so going home is always such an experience.

Anyway looking at this outfit reminds me of one of several reasons why I started blogging which was to evolve with my personal style.  I wanted to mix prints/fabrics so I paired the lace top with the floral cotton skirt.  Looking back, I should've paired the look with my coral heels and a brighter bag to enhance the colors of the skirt instead of going with my "safe black heels/bag" combo.

Skirt- NY & Co (similar), Heels- BCBG (here), Top- Forever 21 (love this), Bag- Rebecca Minkoff (here).

Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
Yvonne

  1. I love the mix of the lace and florals. I think coral shoes would have looked amazing on this look too but the black on black is very chic.

  3. This look is gorgeous Yvonne and I love the print and fabric mixing. I do like the fact you kept the bag and heels black because it really makes the skirt and top stand out!
Yes coral would have been pretty too, but this defenitely oozes classic chic.

  4. I love the print on that floral skirt. Sometimes I'm editing my pictures for the blog and I have the same kind of thoughts: "I should've paired this with different shoes, different makeup etc." However, readers seem to like it just the same, and you can always remix this outfit with other accessories next time!

    Another Beautiful Thing

  5. I really love the print of that skirt and that lace blouse is beautiful! I definitely do share your feelings about looking back at pictures you've taken previously and think about other ways you could have paired things… :) Happens to me all the time but this combination is amazing!

  16. Hi Yvonne, I can totally empathize with the feeling of having a lot of your family members living thousands of miles from where you are. As for your outfit, I actually really love the black bag/heels combo, and I'm not sure if I would like the coral or a different colour as much, I would probably have to see it first, but I really like this look. I featured it on fashion blog noi h. saf, you can see your feature at http://noi-h-saf.blogspot.ca/

    hope you like!
Let me know what you think
