Leopard Maxi Skirt!

Hello hope your week is going ok. I am looking forward to the end of this week because I get to have some days off for the holidays which I am excited about to mainly rest and just enjoy family at home.  My baby has been having a bit of sleep regression which affects my sleep too so the holidays is a welcomed break for rest.  Also, I am still trying to wrap up Christmas shopping too but through it all, I am trying to remember the reason for the season, Jesus.

Speaking of holidays, this outfit and the skirt especially is perfect for the season besides being on trend with the leopard but also because the waist band stretches and it's forgiving.  I paired the leopard print skirt with neutrals and a classic white shirt keeping the focus on the skirt.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.  Wishing you all a very merry christmas!

Shirt dress in all Black!

Hello and hope your week has been going ok so far! This is busy season for my work so i'm having long days at work and finding time to blog among everything else just shows me that I enjoy doing this.  They say something like when you love what you do it feels less like work rt?! And I have to say this goes with blogging and my pediatric provider day job.

Anyway about this look, I used to not love wearing all black being dark skinned but I have realized that it works on our skin like most colors and now I like it.  I think all black like mot monochrome looks can make a statement.  With this look, I paired this front tie black shirt dress I'd had in my closet for over 1-2 years and never worn pairing it with black over the knee boots and bag.  I love shirt dresses by the way.  What do you think about all black or shirt dresses? Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Girl 2019!

Happy birthday to me! I'm thankful for my life and my accomplishments and pray for more blessings.  God I'm grateful for my babies and the love from hubby, family and friends.

With this new age like with any new birth day, I think of what I'd like to either embrace more of or work on.  An incident happened yesterday with a coworker which got me thinking, if i'd just said no, it would've avoided a lot more issues so the first thing I want to do more of is to say no when I want to say no.  Sometimes when I'm asked of certain things, I think about it and want to say no for different reasons but then I find myself saying maybe, let me see, ok instead of no so I'll be working on this.  Also, like the saying goes, I want to work hard and play hard.  I believe I work hard but I don't always make time for fun and that can be with my family or friends and I want to change this.

Anyway do you prefer a low key laid back type of birthday or more of an outing/party-like? I will be working so not much today but hubby has some dinner and going to a show plans this weekend.

About this look, I bought this dress when I was pregnant and was skeptical of how it'd fit after baby but I knew I generally liked this style of dresses and the style did not disappoint me post baby.  It's short, fun, flirty yet still classy with the sleeves.  The weather allowed me to style it like this by simply adding the sock boots which emphasized the dress being a mini and added my vintage dior saddle bag.   Although I wore it like this, I can also see it being styled with tights, or OTK boots, layering with a coat or so and holding a bigger bag.  I find this style of dresses to work with most people so I'll link similar if not able to find the exact.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

High Low and ladylike in a Midi Skirt & pop of pink!

I can't believe thanksgiving is next week, i mean the month and year has just gone by so fast!  Any thanksgiving plans? I will be traveling but I'll let you know more about this next week. I wanted an easy comfortable look with my lady like heels and I feel I accomplished that with this look.  This look is an example of how I like to mix and and low pieces with the $12 sweater and pricey Dior heels.  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

Styling Leather for work and after!

Hello and hope you are having a great week! Last week on the blog I mentioned one of the current trends being leather pieces and today I am showing how leather can be worn to work.  Typically I would not wear leather clothing to my work but if I was to do so, I'd style it like this with a blazer but I'd add tights because the dress is slightly on the shorter side.  For trends like this, I prefer to buy inexpensive items like this dress but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality for the price.  This look I think can be transitioned to an after work outing by removing the blazer or keeping it on.  What are your thoughts on leather for work? anyway hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

Combat Boots, Neutrals & a Simple Reminder from Motherhood!

Hello! hope you had a nice weekend.  If you saw in my stories, you'd see that we took Ella to something like a pumpkin patch, a maze.  She enjoyed some of the activities like going down a slide and seeing some animals like donkeys and goats.  Motherhood is really a lot of things including being able to see things through the eyes of your child.  The way they get excited at some of the simplest things is great to watch and reminds us to not always take life too seriously and to find joy in the simple things too.

Anyway about this look, I utilized two trends from this season, leather items and combat boots both older pieces from my closet.  I have to say combat boots are another trend with shoes this fall and I was happy to see that because I like the style of them.  I had purchased a pair last year on an amazing sale from JC Penney simply because I needed the style of boots in my closet and the sale was very good.  Because I have so many other boots, I did not find the need to invest in a more expensive pair but if you love the style, getting a pair that will last you a long time my be worth it because it's a style of boots that has been around forever and will probably continue.  I paired it with this short belted dress and because the weather was cooler, I added the tights and jacket.  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

An Ivory & Rose Flattering Dress!

Hello! Hope your week has been going well so far.  I feel like this week, this month and this whole year has been going by so fast.  I wanted to just take a minute here and give you some encouragement to keep striving towards your goals because I believe a lot can happen in a day so there is still a lot of time left this year to work towards accomplishing those goals you have.  A friend of mine reminded me of this recently with her testimony of what she had prayed for all happening within months.

About this look, I have to say I saw it on social media and loved the shape and details and unlike some pieces I have bought from some boutiques, I was happy with this purchase.  The dress has weight to it, does not feel flimsy and I believe the shape is flattering on different body types.  I simply added the rust/cognac colored boots as it got a bit cooler that evening and paired it with my vintage Fendi baguette with like neutral colors.  Thanks for stopping by and hope you like!

Satin Midi & a Graphic T!

Hello, if you follow trends you'll notice that a satin midi skirt has been popular since the spring/summer time and it's continuing in the fall.  If it was colder here, I would style it with tights, maybe boots and definitely a warmer top (sweater or with a jacket) but since it's not, I added a fun T shirt with a scene from the movie dirty dancing and matched the nude heels to the nude bag.  By the way have you seen the movie? it's what I call an oldie but a goodie, it's cute.  I had actually planned on pairing this look with white sneakers which is another option but could not find them at the location so I went with the nude heels instead.  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

Pleated Leather, a Sweatshirt & Talking about Post Baby Back to Work Anxiety!

Hello! I’m back on the blog after taking a few months hiatus to focus on family specifically having our second child. I’ve been on maternity leave for almost 3 months but starting work today and I’ve noticed that unlike with my first, I’m having a bit more anxiety going back to work this time. Anxiety is not something I usually deal with so having a bit of it presently has forced me to find some ways to handle it.  Three things I’m keeping in mind to be in control of the minor anxiety:
