Hello and hope your week is going well.  Mine has been great as I'd shared on instagram stories that my parents visited for thanksgiving and it was lovely.  The one thing my parents have always showed me and continue to show me besides love is hard work.  I acknowledge I've been blessed with their contribution in getting me where I am today but I'm always reminded of the importance of working hard, being independent and not having to rely on anyone.  I'll share what drives me on the next post.
Speaking of hard work, I chose to share a work inspired look today with the pencil skirt and button down shirt which I think are always appropriate for work as long as they're not too tight.  I added the striped heels to match the striped shirt and a big bag that's great for work.  Although this is a work look, the pieces can also be dressed differently for an outing.  As always, thanks for visiting!

Feathered & Unbothered!

Hello and happy thanksgiving week! So much to be thankful for and happy I will be spending this thanksgiving with my visiting parents and creating memories of a lifetime.  As the years go by, I cherish time with them more as well as with family and friends.  I wish you a happy thanksgiving!

About this look, I wanted to wear this feathered skirt and thought to keep the rest of the outfit simple with the focus on the skirt.  I think a feathered skirt is a piece of clothing which is fun and great for the holidays and although I feel this way, I think finding one on sale is enough in ones closet as it's not a piece that's worn often.  By the way, this look was worn this time last year but never shared so I'm sharing now.  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

A Tie Front Dress & Loafers!

"One day at a time"

Hello! As much as I love dressing up, I also love comfortable easy clothes like this tie front dress and sporty platform loafers which is what I would typically wear to a lunch date or a movie when warm.  An outfit like this also helps on days when I feel I have a lot going on at the same time which sometimes happens, and I have to remind myself to take it one day at a time so reminding you to do thesame.  Hope you have a good week and thanks for stopping by!

A Swing at things!

Hello, so that voice can also be called instinct or intuition.  We are sometimes wrong because we are thinking too much, not thinking enough, wanting things a certain way or not which influences our reasoning but when we really listen, that voice within is usually right in my opinion.
About this look, I paired a fall/winter 2016 trend, the over the knee boots with this bright fun, forgiving swing dress and matched the bag to the boots.  I think this is one way to wear brights in the fall/winter.  Hope you like it and thanks for visiting!

Blazers & Florals!

Hello and happy new month! I cannot believe it's November and the year is coming to an end soon.  Around this time, although I look forward to the holidays, I feel a little uneasy with how the year will wrap up.  Seeing the above quote just reminded me to not be afraid of whatever comes up and just learn to for lack of better words, learn to sail my ship and keep moving forward.

About this look, I pulled several older pieces in my closet and restyled.  I'd wanted to pair the skirt with boots but another pair but could not find it at the location so I improvised with these and although I initially was not fond of it, I like that it's a different unexpected twist to the look.  On the other hand, I also paired the look with navy heels to match the blazer worn as a top.  This pairing I thought was more expected.  Which do you like? Thanks for stopping by!
