Ankara & Denim!

Jeans- Nordstrom/Topshop (Here), Heels- Christian Louboutin (Here), Top- Ankara custom sewn (Similar), Bag- Michael Kors (Here).

Hello! So I was just on WhatsApp and thinking that as much as I hate how dependent I and most have become to our cell phones, I think cell phones and apps like WhatsApp, viber etc are great for keeping better communication lines with our family and friends far away for low to no costs.  It makes me think there are no excuses to not keep in touch with friends and family abroad when options like this are available.  I just love that I can just text my family abroad like I was texting my friends here in the U.S.

About this look, I had this top and matching skirt which I styled separately made from Ankara (African inspired) fabric and wanted a simple look with the focus on the top so I added denim, and neutrals with the heels and bag.  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

Lace & a Tee!

Skirt-ASOS (Similar, Here High end Here)), T-shirt- T&J Designs (Here), Heels- Christian Louboutin (Here), Bag-Zara (Here).
Hello! So as I looked at these pictures, I noticed some of my scars and one of the scars on my legs caught my attention because although scars are often thought of as not the best, this scar always reminds me of when I got it which was a happy memory.  I was in Cameroon at the time, younger and had been having fun, stress free when I got injured and it scarred.  I have other scars, some from a medical procedure and although I have a love/hate relationship with most of my scars, one for example makes me happy because the surgical procedure from a cyst removal was a success.  Not all scars bring back bad memories, sometimes we have to think of the good that came from the scar or the good that was occurring that resulted in a scar.

With this look I wanted to add a casual T-shirt with a more dressy lace skirt.  I think one way to dress down a piece of clothing like lace, is to add a T-shirt and one with a funny print is even better.  I just added black heels and black bag to the look.  Oh and the tied up t-shirt look was literally done by a lady walking by who came up to me and thought to try the look with the t-shirt tied up for a fun look haha  [By the way these pictures were taken from almost a year ago but thought to share afterall]

Bubblegum & Cobalt!

Heels- Aminah Jillil (Here), Bag- local boutique (Similar), Dress- Banana Republic (Similar, Similar), Necklace- Old (Similar).

Hope your week is going well.  I had a more serious subject to talk about but since this dress is so pink and fun,I chose to be more lighthearted.  The bubblegum color reminds me of candy/sweets which is my weakness.  If you know me, you know I love candy and desserts.  I have accepted that we all have things that we sometimes love or do and too much of it is not advisable so for me,  I have to try to remind myself that everything in moderation with these things is best (in my opinion),  even with candy and desserts.

Anyway About this look, this bubblegum dress is simple yet girly so I thought to pair it with the ultra feminine bow heels and a ladylike bag to match.  I find that these 2 contrasting colors actually work.  What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!
