Hope you are having a good week! I remembered my conversation with a girlfriend from the other day and thought to share.  I'd asked her what she'd done that day and she'd stated casually she had gone to the movies alone.  She could've asked me to go with her if she needed someone to go with but she hadn't because she does this sometimes.  I admire the fact that she is ok with doing things like this by herself and although I have no problem doing somethings alone, I have never done this and plan on doing it sometime.  I think it's a part of appreciating your "alone time" and it's ok.  Have you ever done something like a movie or a concert by yourself?
Anyway about this look, I shopped from my closet and although I'd paired this striped dress with red in the past, I added a leather jacket and opted for cobalt blue accents this time with the jewelry, bag, and heels.  I wanted an easy dress and this piece in my closet is an easy go to.  Thanks for visiting!

Hope your week is off to a good start and you had great valentines weekend with loved ones.  I checked out a new hotel in town with Jason, his parents, and we had a nice time.  Although they live here in town, they had checked into the new hotel for a weekend stay and it made me think, after being married for over 30 years, doing little things like this together must be one of the secrets to maintaining a happy marriage.  It's inspiring to be around that.

Speaking of my mother in law, she gifted me with this sweater and I love how soft it is and it made me think of being in Paris again.  I paired it with this sequined skirt as sequins tend to seem a bit "harder" but both pieces still feminine.  I think most think sequins are only for holidays but I disagree and think it's all about how they are worn and can be worn even in non-holiday season during the day like this. Thanks for stopping by!

Florals, an option for Valentines!

Hope you are having a great week.  Can't believe it's already valentines day week, which just means this month seems to be going by fast.  Speaking of valentines day, what do you all think of this day? Some say it's a day that is just commercialized and that there shouldn't be just one day a year to celebrate love.  I agree with that but I also think that it's one more day to celebrate love and show it whether with gestures, gifts, extra hugs etc.  I do think love should be celebrated every day but I think there is nothing wrong with a more vocalized designated day for extras.

About this outfit, I wanted to feature an outfit with red or pink like this because red is a color associated with love and it's a valentines day post afterall haha.  I liked the baby doll look, colors and patterns but because the dress is a bit short, I thought to add the long sleeve shirt so the top and bottom halves are not both exposed.  I considered adding tights and black boots because of the length but thought that could be done for another non valentines day post and to do red heels instead.  Thanks for stopping by and wish you a lovely valentines day!
