Royal Blue!

Woke up today, blessed.  When I feel like it's been a long day, in other words not a good day for whatever reason or feeling blue, I remind myself of the short saying "woke up today, blessed".  I love it because it's a simple reminder to remember what's important, having life, since not everyone can say same.

About my outfit, I wanted to keep this look monochromatic in all royal blue so I paired the romper with the same colored heels and necklace.  Typically I would do black or nude heels but blogging forces me to try different styling so for this look, I went this route.  Thanks for visiting!

Pink & Fringe!

Heels- Zara (Here), Dress- Nordstrom (Here), Necklace- Ily Couture (Here).

Hope your weekend went well.  I spent some time with a friend whom we had had a falling out and not talked in over a year.  It was nice reconnecting with her and I have decided I will make more of an effort to avoid situations where you let time pass, in this case over a year go by and not be in each others lives for something minute.  I think we never know tomorrow so to pick our battles better.

In regards to the outfit, I have been loving everything midi and I think when you do a more fitted bodycon type of a dress or skirt but want it to look classy, a midi length is a great start. It gives a good balance between slightly sexy yet classy.  Because the pink is so bright, I added black with the necklace and these bold fringe heels.  Thanks for reading!

A Tunic Piece!

Sandals- Express (Similar), Jeans- Express (Similar), Tunic- Lulu's (Similar, Love), Bag- Louie Vuitton (Here).
Hope your weekend went well.  I golfed with Jason on Sunday, being one of his favorite pass times I like to sometimes join him and learn about this sport.  On Saturday, I attended a defensive driving class and if not familiar with this, it's a 6 hr class where they basically teach you to be a better driver.  By taking the class, your driving offense for example my speeding ticket gets dismissed and the ticket price is reduced.  I mention this class because it reminded me of the dangers of texting and driving and other points.  Besides being illegal, it's dangerous and although I'm aware, I was guilty of not always complying but after seeing cases and videos of accidents/deaths from this, I mentally joined others who have taken the pledge to not do this and encourage others to join.
About this outfit, I got this Grecian-like tunic because it's different and love that it's a bit dramatic which is why I paired it down with skinny jeans, neutral sandals, bag and wore tied and untied. Thanks for reading!

Hawaiian Print!

Shorts & Top- Trend Society{local boutique} (love, love), Heels- Steve Madden (Here), Clutch- old (Similar).
Hope you all had a relaxing or fun 4th of July weekend! I love this holiday for what it signifies, and celebrate the rights this country gives me.  Speaking of rights, since changing my hairstyle, I have to say I love being able to wear my hair however.  I love that it doesn't have to be covered (nothing wrong with that but I like the option), can be worn long, short, braided, or natural.  I do appreciate the growing number of natural hair black girls but I feel like if your hair is not natural, some look at you differently----I'll elaborate more on the next post.
Anyway I went gift shopping at a local boutique and got this 2 piece Hawaiian/floral print shorts set because I love matching sets which are great as separates too.  I added the nude heels and bag to complete the look.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Mini Vacation & a Wedding!

If considering a vacation in the Cancun area, I'd recommend the el dorado royale resort.  The staff is incredibly nice, the resort is picturesque, the food/drinks were good and the cost for the all inclusive is reasonable.  The hotel is huge with a lot to offer and because of its size, there is transportation within the resort via golf carts being driven by staff.

The beach per my hubby was just ok, but I felt it compensated with the cabanas, and other close by beach side amenities.  The food was good, I didn't think it was great but good.  I felt like I wanted more authentic Mexican dishes but most weren't.  As a blogger, having wifi is essential to share your trip.  I did not like that wifi had to be purchased separately and even so, it was not a consistent connection.  Besides this, I also liked that the resort has a "sister" resort which is newer and in walking distance called generations.  It's great having this so close by because one can go back and fourth in walking/golf carting, enjoying the benefits of both. And of course like most resorts, they can arrange to provide other services or activities like going to tulum, horseback riding etc.  We did a boat tour in the jungle then went snorkeling which was something I'd never done but loved it.  It was a short but enjoyable mini vacation/wedding experience celebrating a dear friend.  Thanks for reading
