Shades of Brown!

Dress- Sam Edelman/Dillards/sale (Similar), Booties- Forever 21 (Similar), Bag- Gucci/old (Love).

Hope your week is going great! I attended a retirement party for a family friend and kept thinking how it would be to retire but also much as I love my job now, I hope I continue loving it so it does not feel like work where I count down the days until I retire ha.

About this look, I got this simple faux leather dress and other pieces on an awesome sale recently.  I think one of the best times to shop is when the season is changing and stores have sales. I usually won't wear brown but liked the look and decided to give it a try.  I kept the look all brown with the tights, booties, and bag.  By the way, I was pleasantly surprised with shoe designer Sam Edelmans fairly new clothing line with pieces like this dress.  Thanks for visiting!

Suit{Trousers & Jacket}- [sale find in store] Express (Similar, & Similar, Similar), Top- Forever 21 (Similar), Heels-Christian Louboutin (Similar).

Hello! Hope you had a lovely weekend.  I hung out with a friend who is moving from Texas to Florida.  Although it was nice having her in town, I supported her decision to follow her instinct and make changes.  I always love the simple saying, "if you don't like where you are, move.  You are not a tree".

About this outfit, I have to admit I love suits and happily say suits have come a long way from the more masculine all black traditional ones.  The non traditional patterns, prints, colors, of suits like this one can transition from day to night...I think. Thanks for visiting!

Not so Mellow Yellow!

Blazer- Old/Express (Similar), Skirt- H&M (SimilarSimilar), Top- H&M (Similar), Boots- Just Fab (HereSimilar).
Hope you had a nice weekend! Mine was eventful.  I attended a baby shower celebrating new life coming in and also saying bye to another life at a wake keeping for a friends' friend who passed away from Cancer in her 40's.  It was sad, yet reminded me how more are being affected by cancer at younger ages.  It also made me think of the importance of getting the necessary check ups and to live life to the fullest.  I love the saying "do more of what makes you happy".

Anyway I simply love yellow because it's bright and cheery.  I paired the yellow skirt and top but because the skirt is short, I wore the blazer and thigh high boots (one of my fav purchases... the heel is not too high, comfortable, affordable, and fits my thighs haha).  I think adding a blazer is a good way to tone down a thigh high boot look. Thanks for stopping by!
